IPOT is intensely passionate about Neurodivergent and Disability-affirming practice. This involves true acceptance, true accommodation, empowerment, education, self-advocacy, and the development of positive self-identity. All of which is incredibly important, however, if there is no one else who knows what you know, or who’s brain or body works the same as you – it’s sometimes an uphill battle to live it daily. Social connections with people who ‘get it’, are what makes the difference for our kids, teens, and adults – but where do we find these people?
This is where LikeMinds Co. and LikeForms Co. come in.
We are ecstatic to provide these Neurodivergent/Disability-Affirming programs, which aim to empower you and your kiddos/teens with knowledge, understanding and strategies to enable them to respect and meet their own neurodivergent/disability-related support needs, and to form connections with peers through shared interests, shared experiences, and fun, pressure-free, and engaging activities – at their own pace, in their own way.
Our Clinicians are passionate about, and well-versed in Neurodivergent and Disability-Affirming approaches to supporting Children and Adolescents.
The Occupational Therapy input into the LikeMinds Co. and LikeForm Co. Programs underpins all of the activities, goals, and approaches used during the sessions, and in the education and support provided to parents.
The group facilitators are all trained by Senior Occupational Therapist - Sarah Young, who has extensive lived and professional experience in the Disability Sector, and consultative OT support is readily available from our wonderful team to parents and caregivers, throughout the program.
The overarching clinical goals and strategies utilised within the program aim to empower kids with an understanding of their neurology, their body, their strengths, their skills and to ensure that they are equipped with knowledge and strategies to use across their natural environments in the long-term, we don't want kids being in therapy forever - they are perfect as they are.
Bryce and Matt from Little Leaders, and their skilled team of Educators and Support Workers, are passionate about helping kids be the best version of themselves, and being supported to grow into confident, capable, and resilient human beings.
The 4 Pillars on which Little Leaders base their approach - Gratitude, Resilience, Mindfulness & Teamwork - blend seamlessly with a Neurodivergent-Affirming framework to provide your child with nurturing, empowering, and individualised strategies and support.

The LikeMinds Co. groups are based across two locations on the Central Coast of NSW:
Green Point Community Centre & Tumbi Community Hall (TBC).

There is a strong focus on regulation and collaborative problem-solving in order to support kids to engage in activities as they are ready to, as well as providing support when engaging in unfamiliar activities to work towards confidence and resilience in future experiences.

Our Preschool groups focus on supporting kids and families to develop a positive sense of identity, to understand their brains and bodies in a way that makes sense to them, introduce and adapt strategies to assist with communicating needs, wants, fears, and interacting during social activities, and to prepare & empower them in a supported environment, as they move towards their transition into Primary Education.
Our Preschool groups are smaller to allow more focused support for each child, and the focus is intently on regulation, adapted communication methods, self-advocacy, and developing a sense of neurological safety in an environment outside of home.
Our Primary-Aged groups focus on navigating the increasing social, emotional and learning demands that our kids experience in daily life, and most importantly - linking them to genuine social connections with others who experience the world in the same way that they do.

Understanding their brains and bodies, developing a positive identity and sense of value/importance, learning skills to advocate for themselves and new ways to adapt the world around to work for their brains and bodies - rather than adapting their brains to the world around them.
